Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, is an American actor. Maggie Grace is most well-known for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well on ABC's Lost television show. After her parents divorced, she relocated with her mother to Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first part as Rachel's Room's main character the video on-demand series Rachel's Room in 2001. The TV film Murder in Greenwich where she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the lead actor in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to focus on the role of a greater part in films, having appeared opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 as well as Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. The role was reprised for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes playing Shannon. The year 2013 saw Grace appear in Californianation, the 6th Season. The character she plays is Faith she is the muse and fan of the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. Part of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career as a teenager with small roles in several of her father's films and appeared together with her brother in cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). Her next appearance was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy Secretary (2002) and in the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination. Following a string of commercially successful movies in 2006, including World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). Nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). The subsequent roles she has played include Nanny McPhee as well as in the Big Bang and Hysteria. Alongside her work as a Secret Service agent, she has also appeared in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). Her most recent roles were as the main character in The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal began her professional career as a screenwriter and director in 2021. she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter.
