Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. The couple was moved to Oxfordshire when she was five where she attended an academy called the Dragon School. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to become an actress. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford in which she learned acting as well as singing. In a school play and an Stagecoach production, Emma took as the lead role at age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's film debut coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records on opening day and first weekend. Critics were impressed with the film and its performance. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma's performance received nominations and later won awards for the film.
